About Me

I started my journey collaborating with children, adolescents and families, graduating from Anderson University in 1995 with a Bachelor of Arts. I continued my education attending Indiana University and graduating with my Master’s in Social Work in 2002. My emphasis, mission, and devotion have never wavered from the knowing that I have a responsibility to extend the gifts that have been deposited in me to work with children, adolescents, and their families. I have worked to make our community healthier through strengthening families, and the young people who will eventually grow to be their own agents of change, through many venues.

I have worked for the past 20 years growing and sharpening my skills while sifting through the great challenge and heartache various diagnosis symptoms and behavioral challenges bring, yet finding pieces of truth, wisdom, and beauty from the families I have served. I have had the privilege of working with adolescents in group home settings, with infants, children, and their families through First Steps, and with mothers and their children who were facing homelessness through Bridge of Hope. Most recently I have been encouraged to work alongside a great team of medical professionals to bring outstanding care to the children, adolescents, young adults, and their families by providing counseling services at Memorial Pediatric Multi-Specialties.

As a licensed clinical social worker and cognitive behavioral therapist at heart, I work diligently to maintain a collaborative spirit; where all people involved in the change process work together with equality. It is my belief that all members of a family unit have legitimate concerns and unsolved problems that need to be understood, addressed, and resolved. My work emphasizes being friendly, disciplined and organized yet flexible and warm. I approach my clients and help them resolve and manage their areas of struggle, opening the door to a brighter and more confident future and healthy well-being.

While serving children, adolescents, and families is my vocation and one area of gifting, I also enjoy singing any good music that makes me feel alive, gardening and landscaping, decorating, and creating in general. I have finesse for moving the ball forward and not sitting still very long; always working and improving, whatever it may be. I am the mother of three young men, help mate of a great husband, and follower of One.
