Life is challenging and doesn’t make sense because
life is challenging
and
at times..
does not. make. sense.
Sounds a little repetitive, but true nonetheless. Sometimes things happen as result of our choices, while other times, our challenges have nothing to do with our choices, but someone else’s poor decisions. Other times, anger, fear, resentment, grief (and a whole slew of other feelings) find a corner in our heart and… if left unattended, grows so large, that we find ourselves unrecognizable and unable to do the self-surgery necessary to walk once again in joy, contentment, and in relationship to those around us. These issues can spiral into our lives in various ways and gets channeled into other zones, which can create problems in the relationships, professional life, and health.
Individual treatment is just that, work done between you and your therapist or counselor. Sometimes this is also referred as psychotherapy, individual therapy, or individual counseling. I refer to it as collaboration. Work on an individual basis can sometimes be anxiety provoking, but… let me reframe the “work” as a collaborative between two equals with the same goal, and the same dedication to positive outcomes. The goal of our time together is to address the root cause of the challenges you are facing; and after carefully listening, work together to bring restoration and healing.
